Altar Servers & Lectors
Mission: The mission of the Sacred Heart Altar Server Society is to give boys and girls an appreciation for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and an opportunity to serve the parish community of Sacred Heart as altar servers or lectors. Altar servers assist the priest at the altar by serving at Sunday Mass, weekday Mass, funeral Masses, weddings, and special occasions in the parish. Lectors are called into service on the weekends and special events.
Requirements: All students in the 3rd grade and up are eligible to become altar servers at Sacred Heart Church. Any interested students must be baptized Catholics and must have received the sacrament of Holy Communion. Training usually begins in the fall.
